Hanohano Pool Bar

If you’re looking for a laid-back, convenient spot to grab a few drinks, then add Hanohano Pool Bar to your list. I stumbled upon Hanohano when my husband and I were on our way to a work party. But I’m glad we found it — because it’s a really fun spot for a pau hana or happy hour. Open daily noon to 10pm.  Happy Hour from 3-6pm.

Hanohano Pool Bar

Hanohano Pool Bar is located in the Maui Coast Hotel, tucked between Kihei Caffe and the lobby. And, you guessed it, it’s right next to the pool. When it’s clear out, you can get beautiful peek-a-boo views of Haleakala towering behind the hotel.

My husband and I sat at the bar, but there was plenty of table seating as well. A handful of people were there watching a game on one of the TVs, but we were more interested in the surf contest on the other TV.

There’s no kitchen at Hanohano, but Kihei Caffe provides the eats. Kihei Caffe supplies Hanohano with a pretty diverse menu. There’s anything from potstickers and coconut shrimp to burgers and pork chops and pasta. We got kalua pork bao buns and truffle fries. A-plus bar food!

Hanohano may not have oceanfront views or be the most trendy bar in Kihei, but it makes up for it with a cheap happy hour, awesome staff, and live music every night. You can’t beat $6 mai tais and nightly drink specials! We hung around past happy hour to listen to live music by a local musician and watch the stars come out.

But our favorite part about Hanohano? The staff. The bartender was cracking us up (and everyone else). Another couple at the bar said they come there all the time just because of his jokes and friendly service. If you stop in, try to time it when Dave is working.

All in all, I loved the laid-back vibes at Hanohano. Don’t come here for five-star dining or ultra-craft cocktails, but instead to mingle with locals, live music, and a fun atmosphere.

Hanohano Pool Bar is open daily from 12 pm to 10 pm. Happy hour is from 3 pm to 6 pm, and live music is from 6 pm to 9 pm.
